When selecting a formal wedding, not only the brides need to be dressed appropriately, but so does the bride-maids. It is indeed an occasion of a lot of discussion what the bride-maids wear amongst the bridal party – even for a beach wedding, which may include a well paved walking aisle to the place selected on the beach. If the ‘beach-wedding’ is held in a hotel on a beach, the ceremony may be held indoors and thus allow more finery and accessories. In the 21st century theme weddings have become extremely ‘in’.

There are unending possibilities to take into consideration, when it comes to choose the color and type of the dress. First of all the age of the bride-maids, their physical constitution (body type and skin tone) and selection of the colour scheme the bride would like. According to that, the accessories must also be matched with the dress and the flowers the bride will carry. In addition to that, the very colour scheme for the venue decoration may also be included. Conventional wedding and bridesmaid dresses on the market are, in most cases, strapless and sleeveless because such dresses require less skill to design and alter. While at the same time it fits correctly. A bolero type of matching clothing can easily be used to make the dress less eye-catching.

It is no mean job to dress the bride-maids and the planning must be started well in advance. This planning involves all parties – the bride, her family and bride-maids. It is after all, important that the bride’s vision about the visual effect of the maids is one of her privileges. It may take some time to discuss that aspect, but it is an integral part of accepting to be a bridesmaid. Once the colour scheme has been decided then it has to be matched with the venue – beach, mountain, village and city or country, on a boat or flying –each of them required an area-specific attention. The time of the year the wedding will take place also matters for how the bride-maids will be dressed.

Fortunately one may find special wedding planners, who can guide the customers to the right places. In some places there are specific customary rules for ho w the bride, her maids (and groom and grooms) are expected to dress. An alternative is to search the internet for suitable outfits corresponding to the planning. The economic aspects must also not be forgotten – from a simple civil or religious ceremony to elaborate high-society weddings.

As the title says, this is about beach weddings. For a beach wedding one must consider the importance of the length of the gowns or dresses.  If the path to the wedding area is not suitable paved, it would be convenient to have less elaborate ballerina length or knee length dresses. Nowadays some even decide not to follow the traditional ways with elaborate dresses but select dresses suitable for a beach party. Among the best alternatives, mention may be made of the modified Indonesian sarongs, which with a zip can be transformed into a bathing suit. Any fancy is possible according to the wish of the bride and groom. However, the traditional ‘white bride’ (eggshell, ecru and ivory) is still the most sought after alternatives. Many in the Western countries think that, being dressed in white represents virginity, but it is just a social belief. The light blue was historically connected to purity and faithfulness.
