They Say ‘Doctors are reincarnations of GOD’, they provide a new lease of life. Bangalore Hospital in Bangalore, Karnataka, India is a classic example of that theory. After a 7 month long struggle to fight my Father’s 4^th stage cancer, I am writing to you to share the most painful and anxious experience of my life. 17^th of January 2011 is when this tornado hit me.

After series of other Doctors (From well-known, top hospitals in Bangalore) misdiagnosing, experimenting and writing my father off, we landed in Bangalore hospital through reference of a close relative. Given the baggage of lost hopes I was carrying, I entered Dr Uday Kumar Maiyya’s room with a lot of reservation and apprehension. A few minutes went by and I found myself in the hands of a Doctor, who for the first time didn’t see ‘Picking up the knife’ as the only option!

He and one of the founder directors of Bangalore hospital, Dr. Sri Mutrhy were radiating with positive energy which followed by a logical, practical and realistic treatment approach. Their careful and lengthy diagnosis made me impatient in the beginning only to later enlighten me about their passion to their jobs! Their advice was crisp and sensible. Responses to my ‘Medically-Ignorant’ questions were to the point, just so much for us to know we were on the right track.

They didn’t promise a permanent cure or another 20 years to my Father’s life (That is never the case with Cancer), but they gave us something bigger than that – HOPE and the STRENGTH to fight. And those two elements played a major part in treating the most dreaded monster – Cancer.

It sends a shiver down my spine even today as I think of what I went through the last couple of months but I, for the rest of living life will be grateful that I landed in Bangalore Hospital. We stumble on a lot of articles highlighting the negligence of Doctors – To me, that negligence is UNPARDONABLE as there are lives at stake. The least I owe to Dr Uday Kumar Maiyya and Dr Sri Murthy is this little THANK YOU note to let them know we hold them and their hospital in very high esteem and regard.
